UHF IPTV EPG setup: a full TV guide in UHF

Short answer: add UHF IPTV with the Xtream Codes login and the guide loads automatically. If rows are empty, wait a few minutes after the first load, refresh the guide in UHF settings, and check your device time zone. Only M3U users need to add a separate XMLTV guide link.

How the guide reaches UHF

With an Xtream Codes login, UHF asks our server for three things: the channel list, the on-demand library and the guide data. The guide is then matched to each channel by an ID. When IDs match, the grid fills with programme names and times. Our lists are prepared so that those IDs line up, which is why most UHF IPTV channels show a complete guide.

The guide is empty: fixes in order

  1. Give it time. The first download of guide data can take a few minutes, longer on slow connections.
  2. Refresh the guide. In UHF settings, look for the option to update or reload EPG data for your playlist.
  3. Restart UHF. Fully close the app and reopen it so it reloads the playlist.
  4. Remove and re-add the playlist. If nothing else works, delete the playlist and add the Xtream Codes login again.
  5. Ask us. A few niche channels have no guide data from the broadcaster. Tell us which ones via the contact page.

The guide shows the wrong times

On Apple TV, the time zone is under Settings, General. On Android TV and Google TV, it is under System, Date and time.

M3U users: add the XMLTV guide link

If you added UHF IPTV as an M3U link instead of Xtream Codes, UHF also needs the guide address (XMLTV URL). Ask us for it, then add it in the EPG section of the playlist settings in UHF. Switching to the Xtream Codes login avoids this step entirely, and we recommend it.

The guide and catch-up

Catch-up depends on the guide: you browse back in the grid and select a past programme on a channel that supports it. If the guide is empty, catch-up will not show either, so fixing the EPG fixes both.

FAQ

What is EPG in UHF?

EPG (electronic program guide) is the TV guide data that tells UHF what is on each channel now and later. It powers the guide grid, the "now playing" info and catch-up.

Do I need a separate EPG link for UHF IPTV?

Normally not. With an Xtream Codes login, guide data comes with the playlist. A separate XMLTV link is only needed if you added the M3U version.

Why does the UHF guide show the wrong times?

Usually a time zone or offset setting. Check the device time zone first, then any guide time offset in UHF settings.

How often does the UHF guide update?

UHF refreshes guide data periodically. You can also refresh it manually in the app settings when programmes look out of date.
